"36-th International Film Festival «Molodist» will take place from 21 to 29 October 2006. The Festival is held under the auspices of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko." Hrewith the full program.
Competition program of the Festival will consist of three categories:
• Student films (less than 45’)
• First professional short films (fiction, animation, documentary less than 45’)
• First professional full-length fiction films (60’ or more)
The competition program films will be judged by different boards of Jury:
• Main Jury, consisting of 7 acclaimed cinematographers from different countries of the world
• FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) Jury
• FICC (International Federation of Cinema Clubs) Jury
• Ecumenical Jury
• Audience Jury, everybody from the audience of the competition program can participate
• Jury of “Ukrainian Panorama 2005-2006” section.
The Main Jury shall award such Prizes:
• Grand Prix for the best competition film - the “Scythian Deer” statuette and 10.000 USD (sponsored by Loto Zabava);
• Prize for the best feature film, 2.500 USD (sponsored by Innova film);
• Prize for the best short film (fiction, animation, documentary) 2.500 USD (in subtitles services by Laser Video Titres);
• Prize for the best student film 2.500 USD;
• Prize for the best young actor/actress performance 1000 euro (sponsored by the Embassy of France in Ukraine);
• Audience Prize.
36-th IFF «Molodist» shall award the Life Achievement Prize to several masters of the world cinema.
Nominee for «Significant Contribution to Ukrainian Cinematography» award will be presented by International Fund «Ukraine 3000», presided by Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko.
For the first time the Festival Center will be located in cinema Butterfly-Ultramarine, where all competition and most non-competition screenings will be held, as well as the working press conferences.
For the first time the second screenings of the competition program will be held in cinema Zhovten’, as well as a big part of the non-competition program.
Non-competition films will also be screened in cinema Kyiv and film-hall of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
The Grand Opening Night will take place in National Palace «Ukraine» on October 21 at 17:30. For the first time the direct coverage of the Ceremony will be broadcasted on TV Channel 1+1.
The Ukrainian premiere of the big international project “Paris, je t’aime” will be shown as the opening film of the Festival.
At the Closing Ceremony in National Palace «Ukraine», the world premiere is planned of Kira Muratova’s «Another two stories: one simple and other more difficult».

• Ping pong, by Matthias Luthardt, Germany (The film has been purchased by IFF Molodist for releasing in Ukraine)
• Z odzysku, by Slawomir Fabicki, Poland (from the winner of «Molodist» 2001 Grand Prix for the film «Meska sprawa»)
• Friss levego, by Agnes Kocsis, Hungary
• Play, by Alison Scherson, Chile/France
• Monkeys in winter, by Milena Andonova, Bulgaria
• 12:08 East of Bucarest, by Corneliu Porumboiu, Romania
• January 2nd, by Matt Winn, United Kingdom
• Poet of the wastes, by Mohammad Ahmadi, Iran
• Parineeta, by Pradeep Sarkar, India
In short and student competitions there will be approximately 25 films presented in each program from more than 20 countries of the world.
Selected and confirmed from Ukraine are student film “Anatomy of the shot” by Taras Kushnir-Ponomarenko and a short “The incident” by Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi

From October 27 the photography exhibition of Krzystof Kieslowski “From the city of Lodz” will start in the Museum of Icons. A range of other special events are being planned.
Kyiv Talent Workshop will be held within the framework of the Festival, whereof the master-classes will this year be dedicated to the problems of screenplay skills.
From 25 to 28 October this year International Film Market “Molodist” will be organized in cinema Kyiv Rus for the second time by the Festival and Forum “Kino Ekspo Ukraine”.
