The Executive Committee, which was renewed today during the MEDIA Salles’ General Meeting at Cannes, has elected Domenico Dinoia as the Association’s President.

At his side, were also chosen as Vice-Presidents, the Spaniard Primitivo Rodriguez Gordillo, President of FEECE – the Spanish exhibitors’ Association – and the outgoing President, Jens Rykaer, who is also the Principal of the European Film College of Ebeltoft, Denmark.

While giving the welcome to Mr Dinoia, Mr Rykaer commented that he was pleased that, with his election, MEDIA Salles, that “has been and still is fruitfully supported” by the Italian Government, can return “to its most logical condition, that of an Italian Presidency”.
Domenico Dinoia is the President of FICE, the Italian Association of art-house cinemas and as such, he is a member of the Presidential Committee of ANEC, the Italian exhibitors’ Association. “Our work will be carried out in continuity with who preceded us – he assured, speaking to the members of the Meeting –. Through a well-aimed promotion activity, professional training courses, innovative in-depth research of great importance, such as the possibilities and questions which have been newly created by the new technologies, we will continue our commitment in favor of European cinema and in the service of European cinemas. And that is the spirit of the MEDIA Programme, within which MEDIA Salles has operated now for thirteen years”.
Next to the President and the Vice-Presidents, the new Executive Committee, that is made up of representatives of some of the main European professional Associations, is composed of Mike Vickers – of the British exhibitors’ Association, who was confirmed as Treasurer – by the Frenchman Pierre Todeschini, President of the CICAE – the International Association of art-house cinemas – Mette Schramm, President of the Danish Exhibitors’ Association, and Walter Vacchino, President of ANEC.
