Ocean City film fest will open this week end

OCEAN CITY FILM FESTIVAL

This year’s film festival promises to have something for everyone’s taste, including the Opening Night Film on Friday, June 5th at 7:15 PM – “Salem’s Lot”. Based on the best-selling Stephen King novel and starring Rob Lowe (Golden Globe, Emmy nominated for NBC’s “The West Wing”), Andre Braugher (Emmy-winner for NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street”), Donald Sutherland (Emmy, Golden Globe winner for HBO’s “Citizen X”, best remembered for performances in motion pictures “Mash”, “Ordinary People”), Rutger Hauer(Golden Globe nominated for HBO’s “Fatherland,” “Bladerunner,” “The Hitcher,” “Nighthawks”), James Cromwell (Oscar nominated for Best Supporting Actor in “Babe,” also starred in “L.A. Confidential,” “The Green Mile,” “Space Cowboys”). The film will be FREE, so get there early.

Other full-length features at this year’s Ocean City Film Festival include: “American Cousins,” starring Dan Hedaya (“Mulholand Drive,” “The Usual Suspects”), Vincent Pastore(HBO’s “The Sopranos”) and “Blackball,” a British comedy, starring Vince Vaughn (“Swingers”), James Cromwell (“Babe,” “L.A. Confidential”).

This year’s Ocean City Film Festival features three short films, each with a local angle: the documentary, “Inside the Mind of a Suicide Bomber,” directed by former Ocean City, NJ native, Tom Roberts, “Six In The City,” a spoof on the immensely popular HBO series “Sex in the City,” produced by Linwood, NJ native Noelle Pflum and “The Corner Bar,” directed by Galloway, NJ based Lou Bottino. In addition, there will be various other short and animated films to go along with the feature films mentioned above..
