The World’s Largest Dedicated New Moving Image Festival Returns to the UK

ICA [Institute of Contemporary Arts], London, UK

onedotzero returns to the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London with its eighth flagship festival of digital moving image. The festival continues, travelling throughout the UK and the world on a sixty-city tour, across Asia, Europe, Americas and Australia. The annual festival brings together innovative, creative talent in film-making, music video, motion graphics, computer gaming, Japanese animation, live performance and club visuals, fusing them together into a movement.

Features
This strand showcases feature films and documentaries with the slant on twisted narratives and technological overtones.

Previews of the first three episodes from director Kon Satoshi’s [Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers] new, hallucinatory urban nightmare TV series Paranoia Agent. The adventures continue with an international premiere of feature film Dead Leaves, by Japanese graphic artist and animator Imaitoons. onedotzero steps into the world of trainer afficiados in Sneakers, an exploration of the cult of the trainer, with the added bonus of motion graphic inserts by MTV

innervisions presentations and panels
onedotzero presents five topical innervisions exploring new directions of of moving image:

Face Value Exploring Character Design and Motion, with Jamie Hewlett [Gorillaz, Tank Girl] James Jarvis [Silas, World of Pain] and Pete Fowler [Monsterism]
Anatomy of a production company: Partizan home to Michel Gondry [Bjork, Radiohead, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind].
Greg Lynn and Ross Lovegrove in conversation continues onedotzero’s architechtural forms with L.A architect/ theorist Greg Lynn and leading UK designer Ross Lovegrove.
Beyond the Interface featuring innovative interactive design studio, AllofUs [Wieden + Kennedy, AIWA, Science Museum ], Ocean D C [Latent Utopias, Folds, Blobs +Boxes].
Hang the VJ! Presents av pioneers Chris Allen, Creative Director, The Light Surgeons, Mike Faulkner, Creative Director D-Fuse, Graham Daniels, Additive TV, and Matt Black co-founder of Coldcut, plus special guests.

Sh*te + Shynola – A Retrospective. Synonymous with humour and visual innovation in music videos for acts such as UNKLE, Quannum, Radiohead, Blur, and Queens Of The Stone Age
Graphic Cities, presents graphic explorations of urban environments and the city, featuring The Light Surgeons, Ed Holdsworth, Power Graphixx and Pleix.
Fashion + New Moving Image shows fashion's collision with the fields of graphic design, illustration and new forms of moving image, featuring work from Nick Knight's Showstudio and Brazilian collective Lobo.
Ninja Tune: A visual retrospective presents a special mix from the video archive plus the very latest videos with guest appearances. Featuring work from Hexstatic, Amon Tobin, Coldcut, Bonobo and more

A spotlight on pioneering, interactive studio Hi-Res!, creators of award-winning websites for Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream, Massive Attack. The Digital Studio will additionally house the latest onedotzero dvd releases.

Live events
Acclaimed for its reputation for presenting and producing innovative live club performances onedotzero presents five live events.

Nordica! highlights Scandinavian short films, live acts and DJs. The night features new electronica acoustic Husky Rescue, influenced by Johnny Cash, Erik Satie [ Catskills]
