The International Festival of Animation started the operation on Internet at the beginning of July this year. It is produced and directed by the production company LIMAIA PRODUCCIÓNS S.L. (Sandiás-Ourense, Spain), and has the Official Support given by the P.L.C. S. for the management of Xacobeo-TurGalicia, through the Industry Ministry and the Galician Audiovisual Agency, through the Culture Department. On December the 21st, the closing date of this 1st edition, will share out 22.000 € among the winners, divided in six official categories and five special prizes, unless one of them is declared desert.

Animacam is conceived as a meeting point for the general public and, particularly, for all the animation lovers. Its relationship with the Way of Saint James comes from its very first origins: since the pre-Christian era, when the pilgrims came to Finisterre to "see dying sun". We take the summer-winter solstice as an intercontinental and symbolic link and, taking into account the different international ways of the actual "Camino", we "arrive to the Internet" to promote them through animation and divulge the respect to diverse thoughts and cultures.

77 contestants, 29 nationalities, and more than 45.000 visits to our website in 3 months, are the excellent results of this first phases of the Festival, when the contest was in force. From now, since October the 1st and until December the 1st, it is time for the online voting.
