Arc 1950 Coproduction Village: the 6th, 7th and 8th of December

Les Arcs European Film Festival is happy to reveal the programme of Arc 1950 Coproduction Village and the list of selected projects.

Programme of the Arc 1950 Coproduction Village

- one-to-one meetings so that selected project producers could meet their potential partners (producers, sales agents, distributors, exhibitors, regional funds...) every morning ;

- at the end of each year, conferences are organized and are followed by cocktail parties :
• Sunday, 6th of December: " German financings and coproductions " by Peter Dinges, CEO of the General Federal Film Board (FFA) Followed by " Cine Regio, European regional funds and coproductions ";
• Monday, 7th of December: " Case of study : the distribution of "Millenium" in Europe ", with Soren Staermose - the Swedish producer of the film - with the Swedish publisher of the books, Daniel Marquet as consultant on the international sales of the books, and 5 of the main European distributors of the film. Organized in partnership with Europa Distribution ;
• Tuesday, 8th of December: " Hungarian financings in the European coproduction Framework" with a case study on the Kornél Mundruzcó films "Delta" and "Frankenstein Project".
Arc 1950 Co-Production Village also offers a series of professional meetings, but will also be as a place where you can develop informal relationships in a casual atmosphere. Participants will be invited to lunches, to cocktails organized by our partners, and will have access to a lounge dedicated to professionals. They will also have the opportunity to take part in sport sessions (ski, snowshoe walk, etc.) and even " pitch " their projects on chair lifts.

Cocktails parties are organized by : Rhône-Alpes Cinéma/Cine Regio (sunday), EAVE (monday) and the Sofica La Banque Postale Image (tuesday). Allianz Hungary is inviting all the participants to a lunch with Hungarian food on Tuesday 8th of December.

This event is organized in collaboration with EAVE, ACE, Cine Regio (network of 32 European regional funds), DIRE (union of the ten of the main French independent distributors), Europa Distribution, Le Film Français, Allianz Hungary and the Sofica La Banque Postale Image.

A selection of projects coming from all Europe

An award will be presented by the Sofica La Banque Postale Image in the form of a 30.000? investment in development for the French (co)producer of one of the projects.
20 projects of 11 different countries have been selected by the organizers of the Festival, amid more than 60 coming from 19 European countries :

• " Dawn ", mainly produced by Dschoint Ventschr Filmproduktion AG (Switzerland), and directed by Romed Wyder (Switzerland).
• " Fake ", produced by Film and Music Entertainment (England), and directed by Julien Temple (England), well-known for his documentaries about Joe Trummer, The Scissor Sisters, The Sex Pistols and The Rolling Stones.
• " Heaven For the Devil ", produced by Forza Production House (Slovakia), and directed by André Bonzel and Juraj Krasnohorsky (France and Slovakia/Switzerland). André Bonzel is one of the co-directors of " C'est arrivé près de chez vous " (" Man bites dog ").
• " Hier ", produced by Bizibi (France), and directed by Bálint Kenyeres (Hungary), who is also the director of the short films "Closing Time " and " Before Dawn ", which was selected and awarded in numerous festivals (Sundance, Cannes...).
• " Homeland ", mainly produced by Nikovantastic Film (Germany), and directed by Réka Kincses (Hungary).
• " I, Anna ", mainly produced by Embargo Films (England), co-produced by Arsam International (France), and directed by Barnaby Southcombe (England). Charlotte Rampling has already accepted to perform the leading role.
• " Joan Captive ", mainly produced by Sophie Dulac Productions (France), and directed by Philippe Ramos (France), the director of "Captain Achab". Clémence Poesy, Mathieu Almaric, Niels Arestrup and Laurent Lucas are part of the casting.
• " Montana ", mainly produced by M.G. Productions (Belgium), co-produced by the French company Mat Films, and directed by Stephan Streker (Belgium). Olivier Gourmet will perform in this film.
• " Nowhere ", produced by Sirius Production (Serbia), and directed by Predrag Velinovic (Serbia).
• " Party of Wolves ", mainly produced by Telespan 2000 (Spain), and directed by Juan Martinez (Spain).
• " Scare me", produced by LibrisFilms (France), and directed by Jacob Berger (France).
• " Storm ", mainly produced by Argonauts Productions (Greece), and directed by Harry Patramanis (Greece).
• " Stray Dogs ", mainly produced by Riva Filmproduktion (Germany), and directed by Jan Bauer (Germany).
• " T ", mainly produced by Katapult Film Kft. (Hungary), and directed by Gyorgy Palfi (Hungary), who is the director of " Taxidermia " (screened in the Focus section of the Festival).
• " The Giraffe ", mainly produced by CrossDay Productions (England), and directed by Peter Hewitt (England), the director of " Garfield ".
• " The Man Who Didn't Get Shot ", mainly produced by KMH Films (Hungary), and directed by Attila Gigor (Hungary), the director of " Investigator " (screened in the Focus section of the Festival).
• " The Set Up ", produced by Notro Films (Spain), and directed by Luis Piedrahita and Rodrigo Sopeña (Spain).
• " Underneath ", produced by Kong Film AS (Norway), and directed by Bobbie Peers (Norway), who received the Golden Palm for his short film " Sniffer " in 2007.
• " Wayfaring Strangers ", mainly produced by Chic Films (France), and directed by Stephen Bradley (Ireland). The casting already confirmed includes Niels Arestrup, Sylvie Testud, Michael Gambon and David Kross.
• " Wisdom's Last Legs ", produced by Steel Mill Pictures (England), and directed by Paul Andrew Williams (England) who directed " London to Brighton ".
