Punto de Vista 2008 has doubled docu entries

INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL OF NAVARRA - PUNTO DE VISTA

The Official Section of Punto de Vista has received 804 entries from 70 countries preparing for its best edition ever next February.
The number of participants for the festival (a client of filmfestivals.com Bulletin Board Service) doubles last year´s figure
A total of 804 films are to take part in the selection process for the Documentary Film Festival Punto de Vista, to be held in Pamplona for the fourth time from the 15th to the 23rd of February 2008. This number of participants practically doubles last year´s 408 entries.
By category, the Punto de Vista Festival has received 482 full-length films and 322 short documentaries from 70 different countries. 93 of these entries are co-productions between two or more countries. The organisers shall announce the titles to be screened to the public and compete for the competition awards in December.
By country, documentaries produced in Spain account for the largest number with 182 films, followed by France with 48, Argentina with 47, Italy with 43 and the United States with 39. The Punto de Vista Festival has received 29 films from Germany, 23 from Israel, 19 apiece from Austria and Great Britain, 17 from Iran, 16 from Chile, 15 from Mexico, 13 from Canada, 12 from Belgium and Columbia, and 11 from Russia. India is taking part with 10 documentaries, the Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland with 9, Brazil and Poland with 8 each, Finland with 7, China with 6, Greece and Serbia with 5 apiece, and Croatia and Peru with 4 films. Armenia, Ecuador, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Latvia, New Zealand and Sweden have each sent 3 documentaries for consideration. Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Cuba, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Morocco, Palestine, Paraguay, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Taiwan and Ukraine are participating with two films each. The Punto de Vista festival has also received one entry each from Albania, Angola, Algeria, Australia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Syria, Egypt, Georgia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Montenegro, Mozambique, Qatar, Singapore and Slovenia.
