Santa Barbara Int’l Film Festival student line up

10-10-10 Student Finalists Lined Up for 21st Santa Barbara Int’l Film Festival

Santa Barbara Int’l Film Festival has announced the student finalists for the 10-10-10 Competitions – adding a new twist this year with a Screenwriting challenge to the already well-established Filmmaking contest. Organizers of the event are SBIFF’s Roger Durling, Guy Smith and Michael Stinson from SBCC Digital Arts Dept., Dave Stein, project liaison and SBIFF’s Mary Lynn Harms. The SBIFF is grateful to the sponsors of the competitions because without their support this project could not happen. The 10-10-10 Competitions will take place during the Festival which runs February 2 – 12, 2006.

Filmmaking Competition is sponsored by Sotheby’s International Realty.
College Student Finalists are: Jace Armstrong, UCSB; Christophe Faubert,
Brooks Institute of Photography; Randall Leong, SBCC; Phillip Lindsey, UCSB; Rickey Mizuno, UCSB.
High School Student Finalists are: Jamie Bovshow, Santa Barbara HS; Andrew Dunn, Youth Alliance (Dos Pueblos); Tony Johnson, Santa Barbara HS; Shea Peinado, Santa Barbara HS and Max Weidmann, San Marcos HS.

Screenwriting Competition is co-sponsored by:
Business First National Bank, and Final Draft
College Student Finalists are: Philip Amler, UCSB; Elisa DaPrato, Brooks Institute of Photography; Samuel McKaig, SBCC; Ashley Stratton, Westmont College; and Laurie Tsou, UCSB.
High School Student Finalists are: Cayla Clark, Youth Alliance (Dos Pueblos); Alex Dunn, Youth Alliance (Dos Pueblos); Avery Medjuck, San Marcos HS; Jennifer Nelson, Youth Alliance (Dos Pueblos); and Ryland Swartz, San Marcos HS.

Mentors have been gathered for the Screenwriting competition and include: Jeff Arch, Josh Conviser, Michael Deeley, Roger Durling, Robert Johnson, Jeff King, Glenn Leopold, Robert Lewis, Joe Scanlan and Ralph Thomas.
