Script to screen Film Fest begins in Tulsa

The SIXTH ANNUAL SCRIPT TO SCREEN FILM FESTIVAL AND SHOWBIZ CONFERENCE opens this Wednesday(Oct 3) in Tulsa. The event will screen(show) independent movies by film makers from across the U.S., Canada and several foreign countries. Movies ranging from a few minutes(micro) to full length feature films( 70 minutes or more) will be shown at the Circle Cinema and the downtown Campus of Tulsa Community College. Student film makers as well as veteran movie producers have films entered into festival and range from intense emotionally dramatic movies to campy horror films featuring zombiesque themes.
"There is something for everyone and every taste. We have westerns, action, horror, drama, sci-fi, comedy, animation and more. We have movies that kids and parents as well will enjoy. Also this year we have the largest ever submission of movies by Oklahoma movie makers. A good testament to Oklahomas' growing independent moviemaking community." says festival director ShIronbutterfly.
In it's sixth year the festival has grown into an impressive movie business conference as well and has planned the largest contingent of workshops on breaking into the motion picture business in Oklahoma history. Topics on selling a movie idea, screenwriting, film acting, movie directing, visual and special effects, financing, marketing and movie distribtion(selling your movie after you make it) will be presented by local and national film makers and educators. Live screenplay readings with local actors reading and acting out original screenplays on stage will take place as well. " Our goal is to make Tulsa the undisputed independent movie makers conference destination now, and into the future. With workshops, presentations, seminars and symposiums that rival those held on the west coast." says festival marketing director, Oscar Ray.
The festival kicks off Wednesday(October 3) with a delegation of movie producers, directors and screenwriters visiting local elememtary and high schools. A reception and showing of kid made movies will be held on Thursday at the Circle Cinema and the conference gets underway Friday at the Tulsa Community College Downtown Campus. The conference and film festival continues there on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday with an awards presentation, closing ceremony and a reception. Tickets for the not for profit event are only
$20.00 a day or $40.00 for a pass to the entire event and it is open to the public. For more information or to purchase tickets in advance call 916-616-1335 or 916-616-1264 or online at script2screenfilmfest@yahoo.com
