Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Summer is Magic at the Ford Amphitheater

Remember when kids thought the best part of summer was waiting for that big blockbuster movie to open? Not anymore - now kids want to make their own. And FreshiFilms is making that happen, not once, but three times this summer at the FreshiFilm Camps running July 9-July 13, July 16-July 20, and July 30-August 3 at the picturesque and historic John Anson Ford Amphitheater in Hollywood just across the I-101 from the Hollywood Bowl.
Working in small film crews, young filmmakers from around the country will be advancing their knowledge of digital filmmaking by scripting, shooting, and editing their own short movies.
Additionally, these future masters of film will meet industry professionals from all aspects of production who will provide mentorship and advice from a seasoned group of film artists to these emerging artists. Campers will learn about voice-over from seasoned performer Anthony Gonzalez, participate in staged fighting and stunts taught by the Academy of Theatrical Combat, see the realities of screen special effects through presentations by Make-Up Designery and hear from working actors like Mariah Wilson from "Dreamgirls." To further their knowledge of the entire filmmaking process, FreshiFilm camp will present advanced workshops in screenwriting with award winning screenwriter Chris Canole and another in music and scoring by Emmy and Grammy award winning musician Dave Seibels. The advanced camp will be led by Emmy winning producer/director Rich Samuels and a professional production crew.
After five days at FreshiFilm camp, these young filmmakers will have their finished work showcased at the weekly film festivals that will close each camp on Friday afternoon. The campers will leave camp able to pursue their filmmaking interests with knowledge, confidence, new friends, and a network of contacts as those "biz-savvy" kids might say.
The first week of Film Camp is sold out, but limited spaces remain for the second week, (July 16-20) and the third week's advanced camp (July 30-August 3). The fee per camper is $485 with discounts available for small groups of three or more filmmakers. The fee includes all equipment, materials, snacks and lunch for the entire week.
For more information on the camp visit www.freshifilmcamp.com or call (661) 257-3131 and talk to Patte or Suzanne.
