Films from all sections of the Berlin International Film Festival, nearly all world premieres or international premieres, also compete this year for TEDDY AWARDS. On festive TEDDY AWARD GALA on the February 18th, 2011 in the main hall of the airport Tempelhof, with more than 3000 guests from art, culture, economy and politics are lent TEDDY AWARDS, by an international jury, under the chair Marcus Hu, Americas important American independant film distributor.

TEDDY SPECIAL goes in 2011 to the South African entertainer and HIV/AIDS activist Pieter-Dirk Uys for his unusual engagement with the AIDS clarification in South African schools and for his stages alter ego Evita Bezuidenhout, the „most famous white woman of Africa“ how they by Nelson Mandela.

With ENNIO - which wakes his stars on the stage to the life solely with paper and cardboard and and of course on his inimitable talent for observation and inspires worldwide his audience - with Jochen Kowalski – one of the most unusual and most successful German Altisten and counter tenor of the present - with Romy Haag, the grandee lady of the German Nightclubbings -, with the Canadian Queercore-/and pop group The Hidden Cameras, which Teddy Award primary rock Ades Zabel & Company, to the artists and artistes of the creative smiths Base Berlin and other highlights, is TEDDY AWARD Jubileegala a glamorous highlight in the cultural calendar of Berlin. Directly after the presentation there rises the hottest party of the Berlinale to which - beside the thrilling Location - in particular the Special lend live performances of the Copenhagen Underground heroines Fagget Fairys and from male answer of Italy to Beth Dito, HARD TONE, the absolute jubilee spice.

ARTE France broadcasts the gala the recording of the gala dress of TEDDY AWARD, for the sixth time in a row, throughout Europe on the February 20th 2011. On the occasion of the 25th jubilee ARTE taking one subject week to TEDDY AWARD which will find „welcome, bienvenue, welcome to queer Berlin“ on the 20th of February her highlight in a final subject evening under the motto.
