Terry Gilliam and Andy Serkis honored at next eDIT 9

Filmmaker's Festival is proud to bestowe Festival Honors upon Terry Gilliam, a truly great visionary of cinema. Terry Gilliam enjoys cult-status amongst generations of film-lovers. The writer, director and lead cartoonist shaped the style of the Monty Python group and their time. Films like 12 Monkeys or Brazil further cemented his reputation as an uncompromising filmmaker of extraordinary visionary power and humor.

Terry Gilliam will be interviewed at the Festival Honors Salon on Monday, 25th at 6 p.m. prior to the exclusive screening of his new feature film Tideland.
The first Filmmaker’s Festival Special Achievement Award, for unique individual contribution to film making will be presented to Andy Serkis for his performances as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Kong in King Kong.

All awards – also Ray Harryhausen receives Festival Honors as mentioned earlier - will be presented at the Opening Gala of eDIT 9. Filmmaker's Festival on September 24th.

++ Marla Glen opens Festival
Marla Glen will perform as the top act of the opening gala, the social highlight of the Festival. The charismatic Blues&Jazz singer will contribute a special selection of songs exclusively for all festival guests at the CineStar Metropolis lobby after the award ceremonies. In addition, Metawelten will provide the attendees with an extraordinary cultural experience, adressing sensual, partly unconscious perception.
