The first Talent Campus in Latin America

The Buenos Aires International Film Festival of Independent Cinema (BAFICI), was the first Talent Campus held in Buenos Aires. Several seminars have taken place in four different days in workshops dictated by professionals.
In this first edition in Latin America, the Buenos Aires Talent Campus has presented seminars, work-shops, projections and discussions about the relation between the cinema and the urban issue, that is to say how the cinema thinks the city. This topic appeared in the moment in which the city offers to the eye of the camera a fascinating world of new prominent figures, spaces, conflicts and histories.
After an outstanding enrolling, 438 applications were presented, including directors, scriptwriters, photographers and producers. After a hard selection there were distinguished 66 young talents from Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and Argentina. I would like to tell that one of the 66 chosen of the Talent Campus is our collegue Fernando Madedo.
The principal aim of the Talent Campus Buenos Aires is to generate a new space of exchange between young South Americans and expert filmmakers from the world of the cinema and the culture. As an example of this. young people had the opportunity to took seminars with Chantal Akerman, Jean-Michel Frodon, Agnes Godard, Hugo Santiago, Peter Schumann, Alain Renaud, Florian Koerner, Clorindo Testa, Eugenio Zanetti and Angela Schanelec.
