The Goldie Film Awards

The Board of Directors of the Goldie Film Awards (Founded 1984) hereby announces today, May 23rd, 2005, the top winners of the Grand Goldie Film Awards. These were extraordinary films from 4 countries showing great imagination and technical skill treating unusual subjects. Some of the best films presented to our competition in the 22 years of the Goldie Awards. The winners were:

Reed Bovee, Director for "Christmas in Spenard" (20 min.)

Demi Pitchell, Director for "Coney Island" (6 min., 9 sec.)

Jim Hill for The Age of Discovery: Provocative Insights on Life After Sixty" (56 min.)

See Teck Lee, Director (Australia) for "One Legged Nightingale" (12 min.)

Massimilian Mauceri, Director (Italy) for "C' Era una Volta Un Re" (Once Upon a Time a King)
(10 min.)

Steve Moreau, Director (France) for the 5 film short film series: "RIP, MIND, Eternity, APNEA, Le Troisieme Monde" (75 min.)

Ryan Webb, Director and Jennifer Clary, Kevin Haberer, Producers for "Discover Me"
(82 min.)

The Goldie Film Awards competition for films, scripts and audio productions is held three times a year. More than 1000 films have been entered from 33 countries in the last 22 years and retrospectives of African, German, Indian and Israeli films have been held. More than 21 foreign governments have entered government sponsored films as have 9 universities. Big student winners/ university sponsored films have been from Florida State University, University of Florida, School of the Visual Arts and Concordia University.
