"Those Happy Days," winner at the 10th Annual COL.COA

Writer-Directors Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache Accept Award Following Vote Talley After World Premiere Screening

Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache's second feature film won them the City of Lights, City of Angels Audience Choice Award early this morning at a post premiere party at the Bel Age Hotel following the World Premiere of "Those Happy Days," at the 10th Annual COL.COA, A Week of French Film Premieres in Los Angeles at the Directors Guild Of America.

The film which follows the adventures of lead actor Jean-Paul Rouve (A Very Long Engagement, Podium, Je Préfère qu'on reste Amis) while running a summer camp in the south of France and often addressing the amusing difficulties of managing the cries, laughs and daily mischief of 80 kids and 10 camp counselors won the hearts of its first audience. The film co-stars Marilou Berry and bevy of talented youngsters.

Addressing the opening night audience in a warm Franco-American cultural exchange style, each translating their opening night comments from French to English to French, the writer-directors admitted having met at summer camp themselves, thus starting a partnership that began with short films Le Jour et la Nuit in 1995, Les Petits Souliers in 1999 (which won The Best Short Film award in the Paris Film Festival) and Those Happy Days, the short (2002). Their Directorial Debut was Je Préfère qu'on reste Amis (2005.) It starred Gerard Depardieu and Jean-Paul Rouve, and was screened at COL-COA last year.

City of Lights, City of Angels Film Festival is funded by the Franco-American Cultural Fund, a unique collaboration of the Directors Guild of America (DGA); SACEM, France's Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music; Writers Guild of America, west (WGA,west); the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and with the vital support of L'ARP, France's Association of Directors and Producers; The French Embassy in the United States - The Film and Television Office in Los Angeles and Unifrance.

The film is scheduled to open in France on June 28, 2006. For
sales and distribution, film notes, photos (under PRESS) and promotional
