VdR–Industry has started!

Emilie Bujès (Artistic director) and Madeline Robert (Head of VdR–Industry) opened VdR–Industry on Wednesday with a broadcasted ceremony followed by the beginning of VdR–Pitching. The 52nd edition of Visions du Réel kicked off yesterday with the release of the 15 first films of its programme.

VdR–Pitching

Known for its unique format, VdR–Pitching offers the participants the opportunity to present, to thoroughly discuss the form and content of their projects with decision makers and to find out which contexts and collaborations might be the most relevant for them.

The first and second sessions of pitches and closed roundtables have been unfolding for two days online with the 11 first projects and 50 decision makers at the roundtables for each session.

The third session of pitches will take place online today from 14:00, the 5 last projects will be pitched and its roundtables will follow.

Rough Cut Lab

The Rough Cut Lab started yesterday at noon (by invitation only), the activity supports filmmakers in the moment of editing and helps them find the best way to finish their films. Four rough cuts will be screened and discussed together with the film team alongside tutors (experienced editors and industry professionals) during a workshop session. The second session will take place today.

The 52nd edition of Visions du Réel kicked off yesterday!

Visions du Réel’s 52nd edition kicked off online yesterday with the opening ceremony, which has been broadcasted live from Nyon and a total of 15 films have been released. Until 25 April, 142 new documentaries from 58 countries will be shown online and on-site. Each day, new releases at 11:00, 15:00 and 19:00. All day long, live Q&As, talks and other events for professionals and the wide audience will be livestreamed on our Forum page, the Festival’s online heart. Interact live with the directors and other participants on the Forum’s chat.

Following the announcement of the Swiss Federal Council on Wednesday, we are also very happy to announce that Visions du Réel will open its doors to the general public on Thursday 22 April. Over four days, the Festival will hold around 50 public screenings, showcasing films from the International Competition, the Burning Lights Competition, the National Competition and the Grand Angle Competition.
