Young @ Heart will open Florida Film Festival

ENZIAN announced today that the Opening Night Film for the 17th Annual Florida Film Festival, March 28 through April 6, is the southeast premiere of Young @ Heart, directed by British director Stephen Walker.

Young @ Heart tells the story of a New England senior citizens chorus that defies expectations and delights audiences worldwide with its unique covers of songs—everything from The Clash to Coldplay, James Brown to Talking Heads, The Zombies to Dylan, has been part of their eclectic repertoire of punk, R&B, and rock.

Led by Bob Climan, their strict but talented choral director, the group of retirees (average age: 80) are given the task of learning six new songs for their upcoming show titled Alive and Well just a few weeks away. Numbers such as Sonic Youth’s discordant “Schizophrenia” and Allen Toussaint’s tongue-twisting “Yes, We Can Can” prove to be particularly challenging.

“Young @ Heart is a film that is an immensely moving testament to friendship, creative inspiration, and music that reaches beyond expectations,” said Matthew Curtis, Director of Programming. “Audiences are sure to be wowed and entertained.”

Enzian also announced the release of all International Features, Midnight Features, Music Sidebar, Spotlight Films, and Special Screenings selections. For an in-depth look into all selections in this year’s Festival, visit www.Enzian.org/FFF. Highlights include the following:
