Festival de Cine Global Dominicano: The Festival's mission
The Dominican Republic Global Film Festival presents a selection of the best international, dramatic and documentary film culture enriches the country and bring the seventh art into all areas of Dominican society . The Festival contributes to greater awareness and understanding of global issues through stories about events and people who have left their mark on our lives. Promote and encourage discussion of social, political and economical through cinematography.
About the Global Film Festival
mission
The Festival's mission is to bring the best international narrative and documentary to a heterogeneous audience and thus advance the understanding of the global challenges we face . Beyond this , seeks to contribute to increasing the film culture in the Dominican Republic and interest in the development of the audiovisual industry. The FCGD is a tool that promotes , among other areas , the production of local and international cinema in our country.
Objectives
Enrich the film culture of the Dominican Republic .
Show a wide variety of films to which the Dominican public usually has no access.
Show films that connect with youth and simultaneously expand film appreciation among young people.
Show films that entertain and at the same time improve our understanding of global issues .
Attracting people from different sectors and classes to learn about the movies and to reflect on them .
Bringing a modern film culture schools in the Dominican Republic , using film in schools as a means to understand global issues , create solutions and encourage proposals for individual opportunities .
Promote the Dominican Republic in the international film community and position it as a viable and desirable alternative to the industry.
Using film to strengthen the country's economic development .
Increase the visibility of the Dominican Republic in the international press .
