THE 3rd FUNCHAL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 02 TO 10 NOVEMBER 2007

A. The Festival has four sections:
1- Official Competitive Section: Competition section for fiction feature films produced between 2005 and 2007.
2- Panorama Section: Non competitive section, comprehending movies that, in some way or other, have had certain impact on other international film festivals.
3- Retrospective Section: A selection of films, old and new, coming from an author, a country or illustrating a certain period in the history of filmmaking.
4- AnimArte: Film programme for younger audiences.

B. The participating producers may present full-lenght films under the following conditions:
a) Films must have been produced between 2005 and 2007. b) Screening format: 35mm c) Preference on to be the first public screening in Portugal, if entering for the Competitive Section.

C. To submit a film for selection the participant must send to the Festival Head Office, on candidates transportation costs, an Entry Form accompanied by the following materials:
a) A DVD (all regions) of the film. b) A CD containing: Synopsis, film and director photos (JPG), dialogue list for electronic translation, c) The Entry Forms should be completed and sent by post including the above mention material to the organizing committee before the 28th September 2007.

D. Once the film is selected the followed material for promotion is required:a) A Press-Book, 6 film stills, 2 posters or digital press kit; Betacam PAL trailer or EPK from the film, for TV promotion (máx. 3min.)b) The screening prints of the films should be in possession of the organizing committee on the 19th October 2007.c) Shipping of screening print on Festival’s account.

E. Awards of the Festival:
a) Best Film Award – “Silver Caravel” b) Special Jury Award. c) Best Actress d) Best Actor e) Best Screenplay f) Audience Award: attributed by the Festival’s spectators. g) Honorific Award: for merit contributions to the film industry.
