Filmmaker, animator or special effects coordinator on the original Star Wars how will Adam Beckett be remembered?

In his short 29 year life he was all of these. Gathered in the audience Monday night at the Linwood Dunn theatre of the  Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Scientist museum were special effects masters, and other animators who worked on the original Star Wars with Adam. They all came together to remember a friend, who had passed away at a young age, who had made six exceptional short films and hundreds if not thousands of animation loops. The tribute was made possible because his body of work has been restored by the Academy with a donation from the iotaCenter.

A  similar program will be presented in Washington, D.C. next week on August 26, the films show at 2 p.m. at the National Gallery of Art’s East Building Auditorium, 4th St. & Constitution Ave. NW. Free. (202) 737-4215. Pamela Turner who is a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University will present the program.
