Glasgow Film Festival 2015 with new Awards

At this year’s 11th edition of the Glasgow Film Festival, the warmly embraced cultural event in Scotland introduces two new awards: Audience and Critic’s choice.

The first will be awarded to the film that receives the most positive votes from the audience with the usual procedure of voting after each screening as happens in many festivals worldwide.

The films competing for the audience award are:

The Wonders by Alice Rohrwacher, Italy 2014

52 Tuesdays by Sophie Hyde, Australia 2013

Mardan by Batin Ghobadi, Kurdistan 2014

Tender by Lynette Wallworth, Australia 2013

Life in a fishbowl by Baldwin Zophonlasson, Iceland 2014

Radiator by Tom Browne, UK 2014

A girl walks home alone at night by Ana Lily Amirpour, USA 2014

The latter calls all film critics and writers attending the festival to submit a list of their Top 3 films via Twitter by the end of the festival, when the Top 10 will be announced.

Surprisingly original, it is entertaining to give voice to the press representatives in a thoroughly audience festival as GFF, which this year introduced a programme gathering the crème de la crème from Cannes and Venice as well as London and other major film festivals, along with quite a few world and european premieres.
