Oscar made a rockstar - Nothing compares 2 U Prince. RIPHighest grossing touring rock act ever and advocate against copyright infringement Prince was a pioneer in front and behind the stage and screen. A few words from me as Prince was such an inspiration. Before I got into film I was and am into music and to where I will always be connected. Prince is one of those performers I heard for the first time and would from that point forever be part of my life fabric and musical sensibility. Prince, the iconic and flamboyant and soulful performer always wearing purple. Gifted multi-instrumentalist, Prince was an excpetional talent where his body moved in a most intricate way. His live performance so amazing it became the top selling touring act ever Pushing a career forward through music, Prince was also a pioneer and advocate against illegal downloads.A copyright infingement lawsuit would also put him into headlines. Few musical artists have shaped so delicate, a style so their own, inimitable, so universal like Prince Rogers Nelson born June 7, 1958 died April 21, 2016 was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. Prince was renowned as an innovator and was widely known for his eclectic work and flamboyant stage presence. The film Purple Rain was tied to the album Purple Rain with two mega hits When Doves Cry and Let's Go Crazy and Purple Rain went to number 2. The film won an Academy award for Best Song The soundtrack sold over 15 million copies in America alone, and 25 million worldwide. The film also coincided with spin-off albums.
MTV which came of age alongside the singer, called Prince "a once-in-a-lifetime artist who transcended every medium and genre he touched and created music with a passion and individuality that inspired multiple generations." Prince was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and developed an interest in music at an early age, writing his first song at age seven. 19-year-old Prince recorded several unsuccessful demo tapes before releasing his debut album For You in 1978. Prince in the 1980s wrote songs for and produced work by many other acts, often under pseudonyms.
His trajectory from recording to soundtracks set him apart. Perhaps the most famous cover of his song Nothing Compares 2 U soared to a wordwide hit sung by Sinead O ' Connor.
Prince performed in Montreal just last month exactly to the day he died.
A friend posted this incredible photo: Prince praying in front of his piano before his Montreal show exactly one month ago to the day of his death.
Thank you Prince for soul. Your music keeps on moving.
