Clouzot's Inferno on Kino Otok Isola

Small 6th edition of  International Film Festival in Isola Slovenia presents already established film community and festival Kino Otok – Isola 8th/12th of September.  Evening screenings of films on a charming little square in the Isola Old Town offers various program and remains faithful to a program that is fairly open to a curious gazes. The festival is open to a new aesthetics and poetic of film and beside an international character, it is focused  on African, Asian and |Latin American films. IFFI Kino Otok Isola was founded with the help of IFFI Intenational Film Festival Insbruck and all volunteers of Kino Otok Isola are students of University of Innsburg "In Isola they produced films about Shaji N.Karun and Mohammed Soudani who were quests at both festivals in Innsburg and Isola. The ideas and the ideas of Kino Otok have enriched the IFFI and have brought its aim of screening unknown films to new shore. Moreover, Kino Otok has also brought a small piece of the Adriatic coast to the mountain town of Innsbruck, said Helmut Groschup, Festival director of IFFI." Since the festival is not over just yet, I would only like to mention film I really liked. It is Henri-Georges Clouzot's Inferno directed by Pekel Henri Georgesa Clouzota. Clouzot,  the most well known  France's film director that made Le Corbeau, Quai des Orfevres, The Wages of Fear and Diabolique. His Inferno from 1964 starring with Romy Schneider and Serge Reggiani, meant to be a masterpiece, a film that was about to redefine cinema at the time, but was never finished.

Romy Schneider in unfinished L ' Enfer, hmmm : there is  still a peculiar fascination about sensual and beautiful Romy Schneider and Clouzot 's mad jealousy:  The greatest French filmmaker from period of 1940 to 1964, set out to make the ultimate auteurist film, which turned out to be pretty skilful study of Clouzot 's pathological jealousy: all that in using of state-of-the-art aural fantastic visual effects in order to show his states of mind. When Columbia Studios gave Clouzot approval to, with Serge Regianni and Romy Schneider, make film with three full camera crews, Clouzot simply went mad, acting like the crazy director in Fellini's (which was emulate in film) and drove Regianni down, giving himself a heart attack, along the way. Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Medrea brought together the hours of material that Clouzot shot with test footages and produced fantastic art film we see today. Or to mention that Clouzot's script has been filmed 30 years later by Claude Chabrol, under the same title and very much expressive decor, all in a try to picture Clouzot 's  inner life.

The long lost film has a major focus of the documentary and turn to become as singular as everyone expected, which goes all along a widescreen 35-millimeter famous couple reputation. The film also has interviews with survivors of the production, including director Costa-Gavras, who was assistant director  in Clouzot 's. The film shows interview with Clouzot himself, and his powerful image haunts ever so today with his thick eyebrows and famous pipe that helped out to picture his image of focused intelligence and men sexuality of his time.
