Dog Sweat Turns up the heat

DOGSWEAT turns up the heat

Director/writer/producerHossein Keshavarz along with Maryam Azadi who is alsothe writer/producer of this film take us on journey into the lives ofyoung adults who are living in Tehran and are dealing with issues which are commonplacein our everyday lives in real life and on reality TV in America.

Thefilm’s title is the Iranian term for moonshine. So this is not a doggie moviebut a presentation what a dog’s life can be if you follow the culture and itstraditional values.

Soyou will not be able to see this story on reality TV  in Tehran because the system would never allowit to be shown but now fortunately for us we have  a film completely shot guerilla style secretlyin Tehran using cinema verite in the truest sense

Thesecourageous filmmakers placed themselves in danger in order to create thisportrait of present day Iran and Pandora’s Box is opened for us to view. Weenter the lives of six people and those of us who are parents are well aware ofthese difficulties that our children go through and the choices that they haveto make and the  risks they take becausemommy and daddy would not  permit them todo so or tell them not  to do so

Wesee the real Iran without censorship and not what the governmentwishes us to see. The risks taken by the filmmakers along with actors needs tobe applauded and praised.

Thisfilm is a must see for everyone and will playing again on Thursday in the filmprogram of the Los Angeles Film Festival at the Regal Cinemas in downtown Los Angeles
