On Wednesday September 26th at 19:00, the Kursaal Auditorium will host the European premiere of Bahman Gobhadi´s film, Fasle Karagdan / Rhino Season. The director will attend the screening with the cast headliners Monica Bellucci, Behrouz Vossoughi and Belçim Bilgin.

Bahman Gobhadi has won the Golden Shell on two occasions at the San Sebastian Festival, in 2004 with Lakposhtha parvaz mikonand / Turtles Can Fly and in 2006 with Niwemang / Half Moon. In 2007 Gobhadi was a member of the Official Selection Jury at the Festivals 55th edition.

His latest film, Fasle Karagdan / Rhino Season, revolves around the Iranian-Kurdish poet Sahel (Behrouz Vossoughi), set free from an Iranian prison after 30 years behind bars. The only thing that keeps him alive is the idea of finding his wife Mina (Monica Bellucci), who has believed him dead for the last twenty years and has since moved to Turkey. Determined to reclaim his life, Sahel sets out for Istanbul to find her. As the voyage becomes more complicated due to the past that continues to threaten him, the dark silhouette of a man who has kept them apart for all these years re-emerges.
