The Past coming to haunt youThe Past coming to haunt you The Past is a terrifying horror story that has been shot in an actually ‘haunted’ location. The film stars Vedita Pratap Singh, Yuvraj Parasher, Rajesh Sharma, Samiksha Bhatt, Jaya Villey and Soniya Albizuri, in pivotal roles. It is directed By Gagan Puri and produced by Peacock Motion Filmz, an Indian film studio founded by Jaspal Singh and Nitesh Kumar. Gagan Puri has over eight years of experience in Hindi Cinema, and is also the writer of a novel called Black Night - Journey to Wagah Border. Aged 32, he has made his mark in the industry, by working with Anurag Kashyap (famed director) and Lalit Marathe (Consultant of Star Plus). Puri has worked as a Creative Director on various shows, and has also done commercials like eBay, Cadbury, Wallplast Putty, etc. Besides, he has written and directed The Zero Line, a Hindi feature film, produced by Amar Chitra Pvt. Ltd. Hailing from Allahabad, Vedita Pratap Singh was educated at Mayo College Girls School in Ajmer, Rajasthan. While a pupil there, she won a national swimming scholarship from the Sports Authority of India, and also took part in various theatre productions. Singh starred in a touring production of Taash ke Patte, a play directed by Kadar Khan, that was taken around India and also presented in Dubai. Vedika’s first feature film was to be Shabaash--You Can Do It, which was to be directed by a newcomer, but her first released film was Bhindi Bazaar Inc. Vedita was the female lead of Mumbai 125km, directed by Hemant Madhukar and also played the character of a police-woman in Supercops Vs Supervillains. She played a journalist character in Shailendra Pandey’s JD. Vedita always wanted to work with Anurag Kashyap. Yuvraaj Parashar, her lead in The Past, is the boy from Agra, who has taken training in Kathak and Salsa, from the age of 3 or 4, and was seen in Dunno Y2..Life is a Moment, Dunno Y…Na Jaane Kyun, both based on homosexual relationships. The Past was shot in Virar, the township north of Mumbai, a favourite for horror productions.
