Superlative Films announced today the cast of actor John Carroll Lynch’s directorial debut, “Lucky,” starring iconic actor Harry Dean Stanton in a role written as a love letter to him by longtime friends Logan Sparks and Drago Sumonja. Ed Begley Jr. (“Better Call Saul,” “St. Elsewhere”), Ron Livingston (“The Conjuring”, “Office Space,” “Band of Brothers”), Tom Skerritt (“A River Runs Through It,” “Top Gun,”), and David Lynch (“Twin Peaks,” “Mulholland Drive”) co-star in the film alongside Barry Shabaka Henley, Beth Grant, Yvonne Huff Lee, Hugo Armstrong, and James Darren. “Lucky” is currently filming in Los Angeles with award-winning Cinematographer Tim Suhrstedt (“Little Miss Sunshine”) and is being produced by Logan Sparks, Drago Sumonja, Richard Kahan and Ira Steven Behr. Danielle Renfrew Behrens for Superlative Films; along with Greg Gilreath, Adam Hendricks and John Lang of Divide/Conquer. Jason Delane Lee from The Langralane Group serves as Executive Producer.
“Lucky” follows the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist (Stanton) and the quirky characters that inhabit his off-the-map desert town. Having out-lived and out-smoked all his contemporaries, the fiercely independent Lucky finds himself at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self-exploration, leading toward that which is so often unattainable: enlightenment.
Harry Dean Stanton has had an unsurpassed career, appearing in nearly 200 films and television series, including “Alien,” “The Green Mile,” “Cool Hand Luke,” “Pretty in Pink,” and "Paris, Texas,” and HBO’s “Big Love.”

Currently, Renfrew Behrens is serving as Executive Producer on Sam Hoffman’s directorial debut “Humor Me” starring Elliott Gould and Jemaine Clement. She has produced a number of award-winning films including “Grandma,” which garnered Lily Tomlin a Golden Globe nomination, the Emmy-nominated “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck”, and Sundance’s Best Director winner “The Queen of Versailles”.
