His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche was born in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. He was recognized as a holy child and began training as a lama from the age of four. Rinpoche attended the Buddhist University in Sarnath, India, and later received teachings, empowerments, and transmissions from many of the greatest Tibetan Buddhist masters of his time, including H.H. Taklung Shabdrung Rinpoche, H.H. Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, H.H. Penor Rinpoche, H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and his root teacher Sangye Dorje Chatral Rinpoche. Rinpoche is a lineage holder of Dzogchen, the Great Perfection, with transmissions in the Longchen Nyingthig, Pema Sangthig, and Düdjom Tersar traditions. In 2013, the Nepalese government entrusted His Eminence with the task of developing a precious tract of land in Lumbini, Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Rinpoche’s vision is to build a sanctuary that will honor the sacred birthplace of Shakyamuni Buddha and serve as a pilgrimage site for visitors of every race, color, and creed. His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche has many believers of successful leaders in different industries and celebrities in Hollywood and around the world. Rinpoche always hopes to promote the real Tibetan history, Tibetan culture, and Tibetan customs through different forms of cultural exchange, which coincides with the Maeya Cultural Exchange Group, which has always regarded the promotion of world national culture as its purpose. The Universe Multicultural Film Festival under the Maeya group has a glorious history of nearly 20 years, and countless excellent national theme films have sailed to each corner of the world through this platform. Ms. Libo Li also met Ms.Lynn Tang in the process of promoting the Mosuo-themed film “On Matriarchy Lake" and become close partner ever since. They plan to work together to promote Tibetan theme stories to all parts of the world through films , and just completed two films together “ Tibetan Horse” and “ Tibetan Hearts”, both films are film and made by Tibetan locals with their own true stories
In the next stage, Maeya Culture Exchange Group will start working on establishing projects that are based on fantastic Tibetan stories, and help His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche translate Tibetan content into more languages. His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche will join the project as a cultural consultant to make sure all the details will reflect Tibetan culture perfectly and accurately. His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche would also promote future cultural films produced by Maeya Films to his followers. Rinpoche wishes to pass the Tibetan history, tradition, and all cultural forms to more groups and use film as media to pass this cultural treasure to generation and generation.
