5 YEARS FUKUSHIMA - NUCLEAR FILMS WANTED

Five years Fukushima, 30 years Chernobyl, 37 years Three Mile Island. In 2016 the International Uranium Film Festival will be held in Los Angeles in March, in Rio de Janeiro in May and in Berlin in September.
 
The festival is interested in any film about nuclear energy, nuclear accidents and use and risks of radioactivity in general. From the Three Mile Island nuclear accident to Chernobyl, from the radioactive accident in Goiânia (Brazil) to Fukushima. The deadline for film submissions is December 31, 2015 for LA and the final deadline for the festival in Rio is January 31, 2016.  The best nuclear films in the following categories: Best Feature  Documentary, Best Short Documentary, Best Fiction, Best Short Fiction, Best Animation will receive the festival's Yellow Oscar Award.
 
Festival locations and dates 2016

Los Angeles: March 24th to 28th the festival will take place in two iconic Hollywood venues: The Egyptian Theatre and the Sunset Gower Studios.

Rio de Janeiro: May 20th to 28th, the festival will take place in the cinema of Rio de Janeiro's famous Modern Art Museum (MAM Rio Cinemateca).

Now in its 6th year, the International Uranium Film Festival - known as the Atomic Cannes -  is an annual celebration honoring films tackling a difficult but globally important issue: Atomic power, radioactivity and nuclear accidents: From Hiroshima to Fukushima, from uranium mining to nuclear waste, from Three Mile Island nuclear accident to Chernobyl.  The Uranium Film Festival recognizes the achievements of nuclear independent filmmakers and promotes the finest films of the year to a wider audience.
