Crime drama ‘The Lookalike’ (2013) wrapped filming in late January just in time to cut a trailer for buyers at the 2013 Berlinale EFM. Sales company Arclight Films acquired the film for world rights and began pre-sale negotiations at the EFM. Filmmaker Richard Gray and his DOP Thomas Scott Stanton attended the 63rd Berlinale to promote 'The Lookalike' along with Richard Gray’s other film in the marketplace, psychological thriller ‘Mine Games’ (2012) being sold for world sales by Kaleidoscope Film Distribution.

‘The Lookalike’ was shot in eight weeks in New Orleans, Louisiana. This sassy brilliant crime/romance has an air of magic about it, capturing the essence of organic New Orleans in every shot while presenting a fictional story of twisted love and intrigue that exists only in its telling.

American actor Justin Long stars in the film as well as produced along with Richard Gray’s production company Yellow Brick Films, James Wahlberg and others. It is a thrilling indie passion project that feels like stylish old Hollywood with an Ozzie take. Filmic jambalaya, this is Nola noir with an Australian accent.

While reminiscent of cult classics like ‘Swingers’, ‘Mean Streets’ and ‘True Romance’, ‘The Lookalike’ is looking like a charmed classic in the making sure to put auteur Australian director Richard Gray on the world's household name map.
