New York, NY (December 3, 2012)- The Winter Film Awards submissions committee has announced a Call for Entries for the 2013 Festival. Submissions deadlines are as follows: Regular Deadline - January 1 2013, Late Deadline - January 20 2013, Extended Deadline - January 30 2013. Entrants will be notified of final decisions by February 1.

Winter Film Awards is an organization which seeks to celebrate excellence and diversity in independent film, facilitate the production of new exciting collaborations, and to serve as an arena where local filmmakers and film industry constituents can connect to each other and the community. We celebrate the crazy cultural mixture that is New York City, showcasing emerging filmmakers from every age, ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, political and geographic perspective and aim to provide a stepping stone for all filmmakers, from students with blossoming careers to established industry veterans, to showcase their work and gain widespread recognition for their achievements. The Second Annual Winter Film Awards kicks off February 28. The weekend festival consists of three days of film screenings and industry networking after parties culminating in an awards show to be held on March 1.

WFA Submission categories include the Perspectives Award showcasing the immigrant or first generation experience, plus Feature Film, Winter FEAR Awards – Horror sponsored by Fears Magazine, Documentary, Foreign Language, Screen Play, Short Film, Music Video, Film Not Yet Completed, Television Pilot or Series and Animated Film categories.
