WoFF 2016: Dates and Film Submissions

In 2016, WoFF: World of Film International Festival Glasgow returns for its third edition with great energy and ideas, generated from a wonderful 2015 festival. The 2016 festival will be held September 29 to October 2.

Film Submissions now open on Film Freeway. Submit here to benefit from Early Bird fees.

Our focus remains on independent cinema from all around the globe, by showcasing the work of first feature filmmakers and female directors in our two main sections, First Features and The Female Perspective, respectively.

The festival has four categories in competition:

*First Feature Film Competition
*Best Short Film Competition
*Feature in the Female Perspective Competition
*Best Short Film in Female Perspective Competition

WoFF: World of Film International Festival is an annual film and theatre festival based in Glasgow, Scotland, UK and currently in its third edition. Our main focus is to promote independent international cinema and new talent from Scotland, the UK and beyond. Our aim is to bring local and Scottish audiences together with filmmakers, producers, artists and cinema enthusiasts from all around the world, in an attempt to discover new talent, showcase their work and generate ideas for future projects. WoFF is a non-profit organisation bringing audiences a step closer to international independent cinema and giving voice to young artists.

WoFF 2016 includes the following sections:

First Feature Competition: Will include successful submissions from first feature film directors.

The Female Perspective (In competition): Showcasing the work of female independent filmmakers.

Special Screenings (Out of Competition): A selection of films known from the festival circuit.

Best of MIAFF 2016: Animation programme including the Best of selection of the Montreal International Animation Film Festival (June 2 - 5 2016)

Commonwealth Film Student Competition: Showcasing submissions from film students, currently enrolled in major national film schools across the Commonwealth. Students can submit films as individuals or representing their school.

Our special programmes include Theatre Performances and live events, staged and performed exclusively fro WoFF.

The above will be surrounded by masterclasses, workshops and panel discussions from renowned filmmakers / actors or a personality with experience in working for the film industry.
