The Producers Guild of America (PGA) today announced its
first ever Producers Challenge contest,
giving short film and webisode producers ultimate access to top professionals
and the opportunity to win exceptional prizes.
Finalists will be screened for attendees of the Guild’s Produced By
Conference on June 6 at Sony Pictures Studios.

The PGA is now accepting submissions in three specific
categories – narrative short films, documentary short films, and
webisodes. Producers Challenge registration can be found at www.producedbyconference.com.

A jury composed of award-winning producers of film,
television and new media will select the finalists and winners, each of whom
will be invited to screen his or her work at the Produced By Conference.

Prizes will include a mentoring lunch with a mega-producer,
such as Gale Anne Hurd (The Incredible
Hulk, Terminator
), Marshall Herskovitz (Blood
Diamond, The Last Samurai
) or Mark Gordon (2012, Grey’s Anatomy), an all-session access badge to the 2010
Produced By Conference, equipment for future projects and much more!

The Produced By Conference, presented by Plymouth Rock
Studios, will host more than 50 sessions, offering unprecedented access to Hollywood’s most
prestigious producers. Programs are
designed for both established and less-experienced producers, and include
panels and round table discussions with the producers of Avatar, Gran Torino, Iron Man, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,
Gladiator, Desperate Housewives, Lost, An Inconvenient Truth, Deadliest Catch
and
many more.

Produced By Conference attendees will view state-of-the-art
demonstrations of 3D and motion capture technology, get an up close and
personal look at the newest generation of digital cameras, learn how to finance
and distribute their films, discover how to perfect their pitches and find out
how the best television series are developed, produced and sold. Among
its many other benefits, Conference registration additionally allows for
reduced entry fees for the Producers
Challenge
.

The Producers
Challenge
’s mission is to promote the work of emerging storytellers,
spotlighting producers who demonstrate outstanding promise in their respective
fields. The PGA seeks to deliver
exciting new projects to a wider audience and expand the reach of the
entertainment community to include the next generation of great
producers.
