Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Jose Rosete, the man!

Meet Jose Rosete, without a doubt one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. Mammamia! How many films can you be in one year??? LOL!!! Well, Mr. Rosete is PRO and PROACTIVE! Check him out!!!

ME: Jose, you rule! To be honest, you're in so many films that I realized there can't be an interview about your films. No, we have to talk about you! So, tell us, please... Who is the real Jose Rosete and when did you start acting?

JOSE: Well, I always wanted to be an actor, since I was in the 6th grade. I used to ditch school and stay home and watch movies. My favorite movie was "License to Drive". That's the first time that it caught my attention - the people in the movie were pretending. From then on I was always curious on what it was like to actually be there making a movie. I could only imagine how much fun they were having. When I got out of high school I was able to get on set as an extra, for a film that came into my home town. After that experience - I was hooked. I knew right there and then I'd become an actor and do this the rest of my life.

ME: License to Drive! LOL! With Corey Haim! I remember I was twelve when that came out and I had the biggest crush on Corey (we love you Corey!). Jose, can you speak about your latest films and which projects you are most proud of? Sorry, there are so many so I don't know which one to focus on!

JOSE: Well - I just completed a supporting role a film titled "King's Man" with Joe Estevez and Doua Moua (Gran Torino). I also just completed a supporting role in the film titled "Cathedral Canyon" with Winsor Harmon (The Bold and the Beautiful). And I just completed an amazing short film that I'm very excited about titled "Chained".

ME: Do you have a favorite genre to work on? I mean, judging by your long list of films, it seems you've been in everything except animation! LOL! Or, maybe I'm wrong!

JOSE: No - as an actor I want to be able to experience every genre. They all have their own unique challenges. A heavy drama can be draining - but I like anything with emotions and intensity. Being goofy and having fun is always a good experience with any comedy. But there's nothing better than scaring the hell out of someone when you're doing horror. But it always depends on the material. As an actor, there's nothing better than being able to do it all in one film - the opportunity to show as much range as possible.

ME: Awesome! What are your plans next in terms of acting? Do you want to always act or get into production later?

JOSE: I'll be leaving here in the next couple days to the wonderful Bay Area in Oakland, California. I'll be playing the lead in the new Quiroz Brothers feature film "Deliverance From Evil". And I'm excited to be working with actress Angel Aviles in the film. I'll always be an actor first. I've written in the past, mainly to create opportunities for myself. But recently I've gotten golden opportunities to direct, write and produce different projects. It's a good feeling to experience what goes on with different aspects of filmmaking. It makes you appreciate the overall process. So who knows what I'll get myself into down the road.

ME: Thank you Jose, for telling us about you and your work. Is there anything else you'd like to share before we sign off?

JOSE: I just want to say that I really appreciate your interest. It really means a lot. Please - take the time to check out my website www.joserosete.net You can view my Demo Reels and check out tons of photos. And come be my friend on the different Social Networks that are out there.
IMDB page - http://imdb.com/name/nm1352774/ I appreciate your time. Thanks again, Vanessa.

ME: Jose, THANK YOU! You're the man! Keep wowing us with your work and see you on the big screen or on the red carpet sometime or somewhere soon!
