UDINE WELCOMES THE PRODUCERS OF THE
FUTURE

26/28 APRIL – first intercontinental training
workshop

for cinema producers

Far East Film and Eave sign an
important collaboration

[UDINE]
Far East Film and Eave
(European Audiovisual
Entrepreneurs)
signed an
important collaboration which will bring to Udine the CINEMA PRODUCERS OF THE FUTURE. The
first intercontinental training workshop
for cinema and audiovisual professionals
will be held at Cinema
Visionario in April 26/28
, within the eleventh edition of the Festival.

In 2008 Far East Film, on occasion of his tenth anniversary, wrote
a new chapter of his passionate story dedicated to Asia:
TIES THAT BIND, a new framework of dialogue, knowledge and cooperation between
Eastern and Western cinema industries. After the great success of this first
edition Far East Film and
Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission – Audiovisual Regional Fund (partner of the event) decided to develop the 2009
edition, signing a new important agreement with
Eave, key instrument of the European Union MEDIA Programme.

In the last twenty years this leading training
provider has set up
important partnerships with the major festivals and markets: Berlin,
Cannes, Locarno, Buenos Aires, San Sebastian,
Rotterdam, and, now, Udine
Far East Film
.

The EAVE programme
exclusively created for Udine,
called Europe/Asia Co–Production
Forum,
will
gather cinema producers from East and West with the aim of promoting and enhancing
co-productions and distributions between the two continents. Ties That Bind, addressed to a close
number of pre-selected professionals, will be realized with the financial support of the Autonomous Region
of Friuli
Venezia Giulia
.

Confirmed experts are among others: Youngjoo Suh (CEO, Finecut), Marco
Müller
(Director of the Venice

Film Festival), and Roberto Olla (Executive Director of
Eurimages).

The workshop will
enable feature film producers from both continents to work and network
together
in a three-days forum and will offer the participants an insight
into the financing sources and structures of both continents, the
marketing/sales and distribution practices in Europe and Asia as well as the legal
frameworks.

The schedule will consist of
sessions on script development, presentations of co-productions
markets and funds
, an analysis of the trends and perspectives in
European and Asian cinema
and a case study of a recent European-Asian
co-production
.
