The news broke yesterday, legendary writer and director, Frank Pierson passed away. He was 87 years old.
Sometimes I'm glad to be some kind of a "hoarder". I have religiously kept the interview I made of him in 1996. We spent nearly 2 hours chatting over lunch next to his office. In these days, I was fresh off the university, and it was a big deal that he so kindly accepted to be interviewed by a swooning rookie with a thick French accent.
As a side note, he was ...

Las Vegas. Present day. A downward spiraling economy. Think of Me is the heartbreaking story of Angela Jerome (Lauren Ambrose, SIX FEET UNDER), a young single mother doing her level best not to fall apart. Her daughter Sunny (newcomer Audrey Scott) is one of the few joys in her life, but raising a child alone is a struggle on even the best of days. When the worst week of Angela's life builds to a breaking point, she is faced with an impossible choice: keep trying to make things work, or let it all go for the promise of something better. Co-starring Dylan Baker (HAPPINESS) as Max, a nihilistic reflection of Las Vegas itself, and his sister, Louise (Penelope Ann Miller, THE ARTIST), whose self-interested offer of 'help' becomes the hardest decision Angela will ever have to make.

I was a guest on the set of The Wedding yesterday which is shooting in Connecticut. It stars Robert De Niro, Robin Williams and Amanda Seyfried to mention just a few of the great cast. Some of the people that were there included Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, Ben Barnes and, of course, Justin Zackham, the writer and director. It was a beautiful day which is worthy of mention due to all the hot and rainy days we've had lately. The house used for the set was fantastic. There are people that actu...

Three words to describe Paraguayan national cinema? “Work in
progress,” says Luis Aguirre, writer and director of Universo
Servilleta/Napkin Universe (2010) and he makes a good point. Paraguay’s
national cinematic output has been, up until very recently, virtually
non existent. This can be attributed to many factors, the most obvious
of which is the creative stranglehold suffered by the country at the
hands of ...
