“Cinema Perpetuum mobile” is an international
cinema cooperation festival that gathers independent film makers and
their groups to work under the theme of the perpetual motion.
The project is aimed at cinema cultural diversity
and the promotion of independent auteur movies. Festival co-operation
aims to cover all countries and continents from Scandinavia to the Cape
of Good Hope and from Patagonia to the Aleutian Islands.
“Cinema Perpetuum mobile” is a non-commercial project,
so the organizers aspire only to cover their expenses on the festival
while the participants whose films are included into a short list can
pretend to receive dividends in case the collection of “Perpetuum
Mobile” films is shown in cinemas after festival. The participation in
our cinema cooperation festival is free. Organizer of the festival is an
independent association «Kinaklub.org», principles of which are
cinemania, self-organization, decentralization, mutual aid.
The film "Democracy is ..." by Tino Schwanemann is a controversy on democracy. Is our society really democratic? Can everyone be part of it? Or is the act of being part in democracy dependent to the access on technology, progression or any resources of information, as philosophers like Paul Virilio or Jean Baudrillard already claimed? The film is an inventory of our surrounding reality and its goal is to initiate discussions on democracy.

Filmmakers enjoy multiple screening opportunities, cash prizes, reviews of every film submitted, unnique media prospects and the chance to meet other filmmakers and unwind in a ruggedly beautiful part of the world.
I’ve been doing a bit of phd work this morning and one of the areas I’ve been researching is on film authorship and I appear to have fallen in love with that word ‘auteur’ its such a rich, fresh word and very French (when you say it you kind of feel as if you live there).
When I first started researching this area, I used to think that the word applied only exclusively to film directors, but - to varying degrees – I’d argue that we are all actually authors whether we ar...

Friday, August 10-------For the fifth year, Anthology Film Archives invites amateurs and professionals alike to share their 8-millimeter, Super 8 or 16-millimeter home movies for its annual Home Movie Day. Decaying images from family vacations, bar mitzvah celebrations, long forgotten family members and other ephemera are the order of the day, with the prevailing ethos that one man's trash is another man's treasure. The only rule is that the home movies must be that, movies, not vide...
