Dawn of Darkness

Director: Maks Naporowski.
An ancient evil once threatened the lands of Aronmar, engulfing the world in darkness and nearly destroying all life. In a last effort to save their realm a group of warriors banded together to fight the Darkness. They were said to have found the source of magic, a mystical "Light" that flows through the veins of the land and gives life to all. These warriors became the powerful order known as the "Aegis of Light" and with the powers granted by the Light they were able to stop the Darkness from spreading. Peace and harmony returned to the lands and with time, like all things, the memories of the Darkness withered away. With no signs of danger or of the Aegis warriors, the stories became myths, myths became legends and the Ancient Evil was forgotten. A thousand years have now passed and the Evil has returned, spreading and destroying everything in its path. The lands of Aronmar are once again being consumed by Darkness. Two powerful warriors arrive to witness the destruction of an Elven village. Kara, an Elven warrior, who a thousand years ago used to call this burning town her home, along with a human Paladin knight, Dryden. The two may very well be the last of the powerful order of the "Aegis of Light". Can they stop this ancient evil and it’s minions as they did once before? Can the Aegis save Aronmar or will the Ancient Evil consume all on this Dawn of Darkness ...

The Tiger and the Lamb

Director: Ulf Kristiansen.
Based on 2 poems by William Blake, animation by Ulf Kristiansen. Blake is building on the conventional idea that nature, like a work of art, must in some way contain a reflection of its creator. The tiger is strikingly beautiful yet also horrific in its capacity for violence. What kind of a God, then, could or would design such a terrifying beast as the tiger? In more general terms, what does the undeniable existence of evil and violence in the world tell us about the nature of God, and what does it mean to live in a world where a being can at once contain both beauty and horror? The open awe of "The Tyger" contrasts with the easy confidence, in "The Lamb," of a child's innocent faith in a benevolent universe. By letting the tiger recite "the Lamb" , the tiger appears somewhat mephistotelian even though the lamb is not letting herself be seduced. The tiger is also less than impressed by the lamb’s poetry reading and seems to be planning his next meal.

WALTER and the TIGERS

user
Director: Jason Perryman.

Freediving & swimming with Tiger Sharks in South African waters with Walter Bernardis, an expert diver on these animals. Throughout the scuba dives he shows that Tiger Sharks are not anywhere near as aggressive or dangerous as we think and that we can dive with them safely, but also investigates the Tigers' behaviour more thoroughly. Such as their varying behaviours around the bait, how they react to electromagnetive waves, or how they even see us. We're left with a deepened affection for them as well as a deepend sense of safety.

But in the 2nd half, the action switches to the beach nets that kill the Sharks to protect the bathers. We learn of their painful death at the hands of the Natal Sharks Board, and their actual dissections in front of an audience by this organisation. We learn how much damage is done to the Tiger Shark population in SA but also other Sharks and marine species too.

Overall the film's journey takes us on an arc where our fears of Tiger Sharks are dispelled and replaced instead with a fondness but also sympathy for their own danger and survival.

Lost in New Mexico: the strange tale of Susan Hero

Director: Jason Rosette.
In a desert town somewhere in the Southwest United States, a young woman seeks a renegade animal cloning expert who claims he can bring her recently deceased daughter back to life.

Accompanied by her illegal immigrant companion, Javier Apollinaire, Susan steals some cash and embarks on a secret journey in order to meet the Doctor and begin the procedure.

But can he really do it? Can she even find him?

Enter new, green, bumbling federal agent Carl Wisconsin. Carl’s very first assignment is to track Susan in order to find the elusive Doctor and take him down for his illegal activities.

Meanwhile, a struggling Native American potter named Lonnie is on his own mission: he needs to some raise desperately needed tuition money to send his daughter to college, after her financial aid unexpectedly falls through.

Ultimately, these disparate characters and stories cross paths at one critical moment, and their lives are forever changed as a result.
