The Seattle International Film Festival continues to expand to new communities outside Seattle, adding Renton as a SIFF venue in 2011. Renton screenings will take place May 20-26 at the IKEA Performing Arts Center. Flickerfest 2010 Festival trailer pays homage to the much-loved 70s classic, Saturday Night Fever. Starring Don Hany and Saskia Burmeister, directed by Erin White and produced by Lisa Shaunessy from Chaotic Pictures, cinematography by Glenn Hanns and edited by Zen Rosenthal (The Editors) with music by Ali Chamas and choregraphy by Jason Lewis.
The BRCFF is presented by SF IndieFest and BUFF, the organizations responsible for the annual SF Independent Film Fest, SF Documentary Film Fest, Another Hole in the Head and the Boston Underground Film Festival. Between them, the organizers have produced over 40 film festivals.
Our open air theater will show the best short films from around the world to an international audience of art and film lovers who descend on Burning Man every year for fun, art and experience in the northern Nevada desert. Films do not need to be about Burning Man, we seek to present a showcase of the best short films from around the world about any subject.
The 2010 BRCFF will kick off with a Red Carpet Opening Night Gala before the first program on Tuesday night and conclude with a Wrap Party after the last films on Friday night. Plus every other night we will be hosting cocktail hour before and between screenings at our Casting Couch Bar and Popcorn Stand.
Black Rock City has a population of 50,000 for one week in August when it hosts Burning Man. The festival will screen films Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night at the festival. Festival Filmmakers are welcome and encouraged to attend and camp with us! You need your own ticket and camping/survival gear for the event. For more info on Burning Man go to www.burningman.com.

December 5th 2009, the first European Film Festival will open on Les Arcs snow-covered summits!
The festival wants to promote the diversity of European cinema and to reveal the numerous talents our continent has.
Located at the heart of the Alps, in one of the finest ski retreats in
the world, the festival is opened to everyone, film buffs, moutain
lovers, cinema profesionals or only curious; an opportunity to spend a
exceptional week !
Enjoy the first snows, the film screenings every day with the directors
and actors in a great atmosphere with parties, entertainments, concerts
and DJ..!
50 feature films from all European nationalities will be screened
in the 6 movie theaters in the resort. These films carry the cultural
values of the event: novelty, quality, originality, variety. 10 films
in the Official Competition for the Cristal Arrow award. This year a
Focus dedicated to Hungarian cinema is also programmed.
All told, close to 120 showings for more than 10,000 expected spectators.
The
festival is also a intense week for professionals meetings. More than
500 guests (directors, film staff, European film schools, producers,
distributors, exhibitors…) will be gathered in a unique work venue to
facilitate the emergence of new projects and the European cinema
promotion.
