Dhaakad, Review: Kan-gana Ran-aut-do Charlize Theron?

Dhaakad, Review: Kan-gana Ran-aut-do Charlize Theron? Whenever director Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai shouted action on the sets of this film, he must have meant either of two things: A. Kangana Ranaut, Arjun Rampal and a battalion of cronies get at each other, either with arms and ammunition, or fists, kicks and ambition. B: Some version of a lullaby is sung by someone, from at least four characters. There is little else happening. So, what? Is something more needed? Yes, surely! But wher...

From Berlinale to Brazil!

Dawn Westlake is featured in Roberto Christo's blog on February 13, 2014: http://robertochristo.blogspot.com.br/ Translation: Long live Dawn Westlake! Only a few people can make a living in art and culture, even with incentive laws and government edicts (like in Brazil) such a task sometimes seems impossible. But everyone in the world faces such hurdles, especially those who are just starting out. Getting sponsorship is difficult in times of economic surplus, so just imagine during crisis...

Moleman – The Truth Lies Down Under

Director: Szilárd Matusik, Gábor Csépai.
Moleman is a documentary diary about the independent subcultures of a bustling Central European capital, Budapest. Under the cultural surface of the metropolis lies a flourishing art life, and alternative recreational activities are available. There are many who do not follow the mainstream taste, and do not fall for the temptation of the commercial media. The originators of Budapest’s subcultures and their audience represent hundreds of thousands of people. These subcultures and artists should not be underrated or disregarded. Moleman chooses five characters from this world, and allows us to peek through their eyes into a culture and lifestyle that lie out of the realm of celebrities, that is other than Pop Idol or the soap opera „Between Friends” or the pop band Hooligans. But it exists, creates works and is taking shape.
