"Agadez, the Music and the Rebellion" is a new submission to
ÉCU 2011. The film tells the story of an ancient Saharan nomadic tribe who,
since the 12th century, have linked North Africa and West Africa, guiding their
camel caravans across the desert, spreading art and music from Egypt to Mali. Check

"American Jihadist" is the story of Isa Abdullah Ali, an
African-American Muslim from the ghettos of Washington, DC, labeled a
"known terrorist" by the U.S. Defense Department though he's never

This month we say au revoir to Rhiannon Hobbins, ÉCU’s Festival Manager for the past four years. Rhiannon was the ultimate resource for all that is ÉCU but she is moving on to her next adventure back in her home country of Australia. It’s hard to express how much she will be missed but her influence will be everlasting as the festival builds upon the fabulous foundations that she put in place.
