In a world where only 26% of key production roles belong to women and a mere 16% of major studio films flaunt LGBTQIA+ characters, B!tchFest is determined to rewrite the script. Our esteemed panel of award-winning industry professionals including directors, producers, agents, managers, executives, and casting directors will meticulously assess all film and screenplay submissions. Expert script readers, filmmakers and story analysts are slated to carefully review all entries. The top contenders are then forwarded on to our executive industry judges, from various sectors within the entertainment and publishing industries, for final evaluations to determine the winners for each category.

The B!tchFest Film Festival & Screenplay Contest is set to take place at the WhiteFire Theatre on Ventura Blvd in Los Angeles on November 24, 2024.  We're gearing up for an in-person event that shines a spotlight on films and screenplays submitted by the most talented Women and LGBTQIA+ Creators from around the world. The winning screenwriters and filmmakers will join our red carpet event, screen their creations in front of a live audience, snag trophies at our awards ceremony, participate in panel discussions that are recorded and streamed on our website for promotion, and engage in an industry meet-and-greet event aimed at making new connections.

Winners of all Film Category Awards will have a live screening of their film at the in-person festival on November 24, 2024 at the WhiteFire Theatre in Los Angeles.

Trophy’s will be awarded in-person to all winners of the Film Category Awards, Screenplay Category Awards, and Cast and Crew Awards during the Festival Awards Ceremony. These winners will also be invited to speak about their project during the Festival’s Live-Recorded Panel which will stream on our website, take professional photos on the Red Carpet and attend the Industry Meet-And-Greet Event aimed at making new connections. Additionally, all Official Selections and Winners will receive two complimentary tickets to the festival.

The Best of Festival / Grand Jury Award Winner & Best Feature Film Winner will receive a 1-Hour Zoom Mentorship Meeting with one of our Executive Film Industry Judges.

The Best Feature Screenplay Winner & Best Short Screenplay Winner will receive a 1-Hour Zoom Mentorship Meeting with one of our Executive Screenwriting Industry Judges where they will get feedback on their script and advice on how to move the screenplay into production.

The Winner of Best Actress/Actor and Best Supporting Actress/Actor will receive a 1-Hour Zoom Meeting with a Casting Director from Tiffany Company Casting and free admission to TCC’s next scheduled Virtual Acting Workshop.

For consideration, projects should feature at least one WOMAN in a key production role, such as the Director, Writer, Producer, Cinematoprapher, Lead Actress, ect. Screenplays authored by WOMEN are preferred; however, if written by a man, the script must include at least one FEMALE lead character for submission. While projects helmed by men are welcome, they must either showcase a female protagonist or revolve around women's isues and themes to be eligible.

For LGBTQIA+ category submissions, projects should feature at least one LGBTQIA+ person in a key production role, such as the Director, Writer, Producer, Cinematoprapher, Lead Actor/Actress, ect. Screenplays, to qualify, must either include one LGBTQIA+ character, be authored by a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, or the storyline must prominently involve LGBTQIA+ issues and themes.

Mirror Mountain Film Festival brings the best in independent, alternative and underground cinema to Canada’s capital. We are a diverse and inclusive festival that welcomes all types of films and all types of people to share in the collective cinema experience. Our mission is to promote unique and original creative voices from the Ottawa-Gatineau region and from around the world. Mirror Mountain showcases innovative, groundbreaking and unconventional films in a wide variety of genres, including drama, documentary, animation, experimental, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, dance and music videos. Shorts Up is a monthly short film event held right in the center of London at Upstairs at the ARTS across from Leicester Square tube station.

Shorts up brings together upcoming talent alongside established film making figures for a night of short films, music videos, documentaries, live music and networking.

Set up by Faktem Films to support upcoming talent, Shorts Up aims to provide a monthly platform for established and emerging filmmakers to showcase their work whilst networking with other industry professionals. The night is more than just a short film night - it's for filmmakers programmed by filmmakers.

Submissions are open to anyone with a short film, documentary or music video with selected films being screened at our central London venue Upstairs at the ARTS. Unlike many events, we do not operate on a one-off submission chance, if we are unable to programme a film in the next event it will continue to be considered for future events.

Each evening will feature approx 1hr40m of short films, with live music before and after the screenings. The venue's bar will stay open exclusively for anyomne with a ticket for a chance to network and meet other people in the industry.

The 20th annual Cucalorus Film Festival takes place November 12-16, 2014 in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. The non-competitive festival showcases more than 200 films from all over the world and attracts an accumulated audience of 14,800 cultural travelers who come to celebrate the art-form and connect with peers. The festival's spirited celebration has been recognized as a breeding ground for young artists, new ideas and lifelong friendships. Festival programs focus on dance, music videos, emerging artists, social justice, works-in-progress, and international cinema. Cucalorus creates an opportunity for intimate engagement between audience and artist through the festival’s retreat-like atmosphere, resulting in friendships that extend far beyond the festival’s 5-day celebration.

Dallas Videofest is the major event presented by the Video Association of Dallas, which is dedicated to promoting an understanding of video as a creative medium and cultural force in our society, and to supporting and advancing the work of Texas artists working in video and the electronic arts. Through its programs and information services, the Video Association intends to educate and inform artists, students, educators, critics, video and film producers and an interested public so they may better understand, appreciate and evaluate the creative possibilities of the video medium. It will also provide a forum for the work of regional video artists, in order to stimulate excellence in their work and provide the opportunity for dialogue and critical discussion.

On October 3rd, 2015, The Grenada Afterglow Film Fest brings FILMS, MUSIC, ART, WORKSHOPS, FOOD and FUN to beautiful historic downtown Grenada, Mississippi. 

Independent filmmakers from around the state and around the world can submit their entries.  Our spotlight categories are “Feel Good” films and films that "Inspire Positive Change".

We want viewers to be moved to feel the “Afterglow” of the festival and of the small town atmosphere in Grenada.
