TranScreen Amsterdam Transgender Film Festival

TranScreen is a 4 day cultural festival held every two years in Amsterdam, showcasing a broad range of carefully curated documentaries, shorts and feature films, with an aim to promote and contribute a positive awareness of Trans and Gender Diverse ( TGD) people. TranScreen is also Europe's longest running TGD specific film festival, organised by dedicated volunteers. Through the film programming we hope to celebrate the struggles and successes of the rich tapestry of people that make up the TGD community an often misunderstood and ignored sector of society. We strive for inclusivity, our target audience not just the TGD community and allies, but the general population as a whole.

Moonlight People

Director: Dmitri Frolov.

Two completely traditional couples of lovers on a warm summer night make a kind of coming-out in front of each other, telling about their hidden impulses from a previous life.
The impetus to making the film was the book of the same name by the Russian religious philosopher Vasily Rozanov, who died 100 years ago. His treatise was devoted to the study of sexuality and its denial in Christianity.
The film was made in the style of experimental films of the 1920s with a non-linear narrative full of strange surrealistic images. He is black and white and devoid of dialogue. The image is based on the music of Alexander Scriabin "The Poem of Ecstasy", composed and performed also at the beginning of the 20th century.

Siraj Syed reviews Moonlight: Silences waxing eloquent ‘Slowly, silently, now the moon Walks the night in her silver shoon’—Walter de la Mare In The Color Purple, we realised that black persons appear purple in on some occasions. Out and proud or not?

Gender and sexuality is one of the official themes at DIFF.   I saw three films today and a little-known surfer documentary stole the show. Out in the    line up is the story of how gay surfers struggle to fit in in one of the most macho sports. It    is polished, beautifully filmed, straight forward without offending and even funny. It is a    pity the doccie was only screened once as a wider audience should s...

Porny Days Sexfilmfestival Zurich

True to David Reuben's classic book "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask " we love movies that give us new insights on topics like sexual liberation, erotic fantasies, BDSM, sexual shame, cultural sexual differences, the "new" prudery, pornography, the impact of the internet porn on our sexuality and sex activism. The discourse with the filmmakers and actors is very important to us. Therefore we try to invite as many protagonists and directors as possible to our festival and thus offer the audience the opportunity for a dialogue.

The selection-commitee is looking forward to all kind of films about all kinds of sexuality. Any durations and genres are welcome and can be submitted, fiction, shorts, experimental and documentaries.
