El Festival de Cine Fútbolero nace como iniciativa de estudiantes y egresados(as) de las Universidades: Nacional (UN), Pedagógica (UPN) y Distrital (UD), en Bogotá; Integrantes de Barras Fútboleras (América, Millonarios FC, CI Santa Fe, A Nacional) y Escuelas de Fútbol Popular, a su vez, investigadores en áreas como Administración Deportiva, Trabajo Social, Antropología, Ciencia Política, Sociología, Educación Comunitaria, Ciencias Sociales y Educación Física.
Busca significar el Fútbol como Espacio Intercultural de la humanidad, mediante la cinematografía y el encuentro de distintos actores de este fenómeno social. Propone como ejes de trabajo: Medios Audiovisuales, Conversatorios, Práctica Deportiva, Literatura y Presentaciones Musicales.
