Fling! 2015 is evolving, alongside celebrating the best in youth and adventure film. Based in the Highlands of Scotland we are the perfect location to present adventure/ action shorts whether skateboarding, parkour, biking, graffiti or place hacking. If you make films and are involved in one of these practices then please submit for 2015. We are also welcoming fiction and documentary shorts and features.
The Fling! Film festival is an event that showcases the work of young film makers from across the world and the best in cinema. The festival is held in the idyllic scenery of Tain in the Scottish Highlands. Hundreds of people participated in the workshops and came to watch the shorts and feature films. We considered 2014 a resounding success and aim to build on this for 2015.
For the 2015 festival we are expanding the event to encompass more short films and a competitive feature element.

Director: Giacomo Arrigoni.
Following otherworldly plans which he finds very annoying, Humphrey, the ghost of a murderer, is forced to team up with Lara, a lonely teenage girl ignored by parents and society. Unable to touch things and assume a human form that would lead to the ultimate demise of his soul, Humphrey must lead the girl to save two kidnapped children as a way to redeem himself and finally abandon Earth.
The two make an unpredictable rough pair and explore the old mansion where some criminals are holding the children for their shady business. The ghost and the girl find the children and try to draw the attention of the city, but nobody listens to them: they are just invisible creatures trying to point out the existence of two invisible children.
Unable to believe in himself and convinced that he is damned forever, Humphrey abandons the mission and vanishes, forcing Lara to act on her own to save the kids.
But when the criminals kidnap Lara, Humphrey realizes that he must do his best to awaken the entire city and open the eyes of the people who continue to ignore the existence of the prisoners. Then, as he recalls what his alchemist father told him when he was a child, that even the most impure stone can be transformed into gold, Humphrey faces the most difficult choice of his afterlife: remaining damned forever or risking a final death by taking on human form to free the prisoners: a choice that can transform his soul from lead to gold.
Three years ago this week, on August 6, 2009, one of the most prolific, influential and commercially successful American directors of his generation passed away at the age of 59. Although not generally considered a cinematic innovator, despite his enormous output and unique style in terms of story-telling and characterization, John Hughes' legend looms large.
In the early 1980s, the name John Hughes and “teen comedy” were virtually inseparable. B...

Are you seeing the world in three dimensions? Are you? This hip-hop video frames the issue that without an historical understanding, without recognizing the past, you are actually seeing the world in two dimensions. Is there a danger to be focused solely on the present and the future?
YoungCuts Film Festival is the Premiere Showcase of Great Short Films by the World's Best Young Filmmakers.
The Festival features short films under 30 minutes long produced by emerging filmmakers under 30 years old and serves as a launch pad for filmmaker careers, providing exposure and recognition for some of the most exciting new talent from around the globe - student film makers and non- student film makers alike.
Established in 2001, every year, the festival selects its Top 100 International Short Films from more than a thousand films from over 30 countries.
Unlike many film festivals, YoungCuts is not a black box. For filmmakers making paid submissions, we offer feedback when and where appropriate; we present their short films to our film industry partners including producers, distributors and programmers - this has led to short films being presented on TV, licensed for outdoor festivals and programmed by other film festivals who view us an expert on short films by young filmmakers. With your paid submission, you also gain privileged access to watch, vote and be inspired by great short films from young filmmakers around the world.
