Shoot the Book! returns to Los Angeles November 16 - 20Created at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, Shoot the Book! is a program that successfully brings together publishers, producers, talent agencies and studios. Shoot the Book! Los Angeles, launched in 2016, is designed as a platform dedicated to the American market to display a selection of cutting-edge IPs chosen for their potential as screen adaptations (film, television, and other digital formats). Read more about the selections in our online booklet HERE. This year, for obvious reasons, Shoot the Book! Los Angeles will take place online from November 16 to 19. During these four days, French rights managers will pitch titles selected by a high-profile Hollywood jury, keynote speakers will present the current situation for adaptation and how, according to the Los Angeles Times, “Hollywood has gobbled up book rights during the pandemic." An online BtoB market with selected professionals will conclude the four-day program. And this year, for the first time, the program is open to East Coast professionals. Shoot the Book! Los Angeles is produced by the French Mission for Culture and Higher Education in the United States (Los Angeles branch) with the support of the Société Civile des Éditeurs de Langue Française (SCELF) and l’Institut français. Registration is available online HERE
