Bahamas International Film Festival 

The Bahamas International Film Festival is dedicated to providing the local community and International visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. educational programs, and forums for exploring the future of cinema.

BIFF’s 16th anniversary dates are scheduled for December 9 to December 15 with all activities taking place at Baha Mar and venues around Nassau. BIFF will contribute all revenue after expenses towards Hurricane Dorian Relief for Hope Town, Abaco.

Get out of your head and into the moment with Top Hollywood Acting coach Rob Adler in his (one day?) master class in acting and presence for the camera.  Rob Adler is, an on-camera coach for Lionsgate, Disney, FOX, NBC, ABC, and a faculty member of the University of Southern California. He has also taught at CalArts, the Geffen Playhouse, American Music & Dramatic Academy, Boston University, Occidental College and internationally in Tokyo, Vancouver, Johannesburg and at the Bahamas International Film Festival. In 2013 Adler directed his first film ‘iVOTE’ starring Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts and Emmy Award winners Dan Lauria and Sharon Lawrence.  He is an actor, director, teacher and the founder of the AdlerImprov Studio in Hollywood (www.adlerimprov.com)

 

Rob Adler is a long time activist. His artistic mission is to raise awareness of peace and progress issues, which is reflected in his films and in the theater he has directed, including “Paul Robeson: The Artist Must Take Sides” in Chicago. Adler devised and directed “Patriot Act”, starring acclaimed performer Roger Guenveur Smith (Do the Right Thing, American Gangster, K-Street), continuing his long time affiliation with Los Angeles’ Bootleg Theater. He also directed and produced “Rise & Shout,” starring Tony Award winner Joe Mantegna, Golden Globe & Emmy Award winner Jack Klugman, three-time Emmy Award winner Jean Smart and Emmy Award nominee Wendie Mallick. Adler also is a working actor having appeared in films, commercials and television shows, both national network and cable, and made a special appearance in the short film “Where We Go From Here,” screening at this years BIFF. He studied in Chicago at The Theater School/Goodman School of Drama and in the UK at BADA. His expertise was honed with the world’s foremost teachers and institutions, including Alan Rickman, Fiona Shaw and Paul Sills, in Spolin, Viewpoints and Commedia Del Arte, with the Groundlings, Second City, Anne Bogart’s SITI Company and Tim Robbins’ Actors Gang, among others. Adler also holds a certificate in Film Directing from UCLA.
