The Perspectives Jury
The Berlinale has been committed to supporting the next generation of film makers since 2006, when it introduced the Best First Feature Award in partnership with GWFF. This award now sits in a new competitive section. At the 75th Berlinale, the award will be presented to one of the 14 films premiering in the new section Perspectives. The award for a fiction debut is endowed with 50,000 euros, funded by GWFF (Gesellschaft zur Wahrnehmung von Film- und Fernsehrechten), a society dedicated to safeguarding film and television rights.
A three-member jury chooses the winner for the Best First Feature Award: Meryam Joobeur (Tunisia / Canada), Aïssa Maïga (France / Mali) and María Zamora (Spain).
