Shortbus Premier fell anywhere but short of people's expectationsSunday night at 12:30am was the premier of the controversial independent film, "Shortbus," directed by John Cameron Mitchell. While many films these days seem to have a lot of sexual content, this one most likely takes the cake. "Shortbus" starts out going back and forth between seeing an animated, almost claymation-like, scenery of New York, zooming in on several different people's appartments, giving the audience a sneak peak into the private lives of very different New Yorkers, each trying to overcome different problems with their sexual encounters and/or emotional relationships. The first five minutes or so flash back and forth between several couples encounters in an up-beat comedic light. While most of the movie has a sense of humour about sex, the film also has many moving and touching moments of emotional character developement. At the end of the film there was a standing ovation, moving the director and several of the actors to tears. While this unrated film may shock many people, it also has a lot of character insight to offer. If you think you can handle it, I highly recommend this film. 22.05.2006 | caitlin's blog Cat. : CDATA Cinema of the United States Entertainment Entertainment Erotic films Film Gay actors Independent films John Cameron Mitchell John Cameron Mitchell LGBT New York Radical Faeries Shortbus Shortbus XML Zooming Independent Red carpet FILM
