How To Be A Stand Up Comedian

It's amazing...the more I share my experiences about becoming a stand up comedian the more people I run into who tell me, "That is so cool. I've always wanted to become a comic. How did you do it?" and they'll begin sharing with me how long they've had this dream. The first thing I tell them is, "Do it. It's one of the greatest things I've ever done for myself and you will be glad you did, too."
After appearing as a guest on myConversation Crossroad radio show, Stephen Rosenfield (dubbed “the best known comedy teacher in the country” by The New York Times and founder of the American Comedy Institute) challenged me to take his Stand Up Comedy Workshop and appear at The Gotham Comedy Club. Becoming a stand up comic is something I’ve never done. It was totally out of my comfort zone. But, I’m never one to shy away from a challenge so I took Stephen up on it. And, I've had the wonderful experience of proving to myself that I could become a stand up comedian and appear at  one of the most famous comedy clubs in the country. Learning how to be a stand up comedian has had a tremendous influence in all areas of my life and career. My self-confidence has soared and I now have the wonderful attitude that there's nothing I can't do. It's just a matter of having the determination and making the commitment to learn what I need to know to do something I've never tried and going after it. And, you can do the same.
Knowing what a unique experience it would be to learn how to become a stand up comedian, I thankfully had to foresight to capture my experiences on film. And, I am so glad I did. People who have already seen the film contact me to thank me for inspiring them to follow their own dream, not just to learn how to become a stand up comedian but to try something they've always wanted to do but never could take the leap...until now. Being able to influence others to try something new and to take a step out of their own comfort zones has been one of the greatest rewards I've experienced in life.
"Comic On A Half Shell" will take you through my experiences learning how to become a stand up comedian from writing my own material, finding my comic persona, testing my material in front of others and taking the stage at New York City's famed Gotham Comedy Club, never having done stand up comedy before in my life. You'll get a front row seat watching me go through the challenges and triumphs as well as overcoming my fears of stand up comedy.
If you've been holding on to a dream and never acted on it, I encourage you to get a copy of "Comic On A Half Shell."
